Here at Breton Court we actively offer and encourage our residents to be involved in social activities, either within the home or outside. There is no limitation on visiting and our clients are allowed to have friends and relatives at any reasonable times.
We have a minibus available for organised trips and informal excursions into the pleasant Kent countryside. Our Activity Coordinator gets to know our residents and sets up events according to their preferences i.e. bingo, crosswords, quizzes etc. Friends and family are welcome to our cultural festivals, get-togethers and birthday parties.
We encourage the building of relationships between our clients with many developing friendships that are mutually supportive and last for many years. Often our clients choose to sit with friends and acquaintances; this is actively encouraged. All we ask is consideration for other clients at Breton Court if visitors wish to arrive, stay or leave at unusual hours.
Continuation of any hobbies/activities is promoted and representatives of all denominations are welcome. The vicar from the local church visits to conduct a church service. We encourage clients’ relatives or friends to take them out because we believe that this assists in remaining involved with their family and the community as a whole.
Residents’ personal medical needs are looked after by sourcing local healthcare professionals such as doctors, dentists, chiropodists and physiotherapists, while mental health professionals are on call too.
